My balance will be green even after paying my rent for the first time in over a year. Apparently the IBGroup corrected an error of some sorts (too lazy to look into it) and they sent me a shitload of money.
This is the first time one of their administrative mishaps is to my advantage. *bitter laugh*

Now I can finally start saving. <3

Of course, after spending the neccessary amount on Düsseldorf next Thursday. Turns out we're going after all. ;)

Also, I have some news about one of Phoebus's halfbrothers (same dad). I saw Moran at the cattery when I was there to pick up Phoebus, and back then his breeders still intended to start breeding with him when he got old enough. Apparently they abandoned that plan, because now Moran is castrated and they are searching for a new home for him.

Stunning cat (and quite visibly related to my red fatass, just not as fatass-y), I wish we could take him in.
But I know that's impossible without even having to inquire about the price.. heh.. +____+

For anyone interested, these are the males they currently breed with:

Elvis (the smoky black on the left) and Shakur (right, daddy to my Phoebus)

Elvis could be called the cattery's "star". He's 3,5 years old (Maine Coons aren't fully developed until age 4) and he's huge. And hairy. (<== right there you have the ideal "show look" for a Maine Coon male -_-)
I recall the owner boasting that people from all over the country always line up for kittens fathered by this cat. She even got mad offers from people who wanted to buy the cat himself. I'm sure that when my mother decides we want another Maine Coon, she will try for a mini-Elvis, because she fell in love with Elvis. XD

When looking at that face it's almost impossible to not take him for some kind of grey Mufasa creature instead of a.. cat. O_o This breed is magical.

I had the weirdest dream EVER tonight.

I was going to meet Mana (MANA!) because apparently I knew some girl who was modeling clothes for him, but I had never seen her irl. There were some other friends with me, but I can't remember who.
So Mana shows up with the girl, and he looks like an old grandpa, wearing clothes that reminded me of his Voyage looks. I shook his hand and at a loss for words, I forced out a "hajimemashite". He said something back but his voice was so aged I could't make anything out, but he looped his arm in mine and we walked off with the rest to watch movies but Mana kept falling asleep.

And all the time I was wondering where Jiji!Gackt was. Probably rotflmao'ing in his grave.

It's due to me sleeping on the matrass in my room in Maastricht again, I bet. I never sleep as deeply here as I do in my waterbed at home.

And as I'm leaving Maastricht for winter break, I'll be off to pack stuff and go to school now.

For once I'm relieved I'm not at home tonight; this morning at home my mother woke me up and she was carrying Sherely. My sleepscattered brain was trying to come up with a reason why the hell my mother is carrying my niece around upstairs, but I was informed that her mother is in labour and she was to stay at our place for the day.

So I went to shower and at around 11:00 we got a phonecall from my brother, it was over already. I think I heard they have plans to call her Naomi, just like the first kid that died.

My mother's tone when she congratulated them.. "Oh, that's fast.. well, contragulations." Haha, I just KNOW what she's thinking.

Anyway, it's probably a madhouse now at home so I'd rather be here because I don't care for all those things.

I just love the sight of snow in Maastricht. POWDERSNOW EVEN. *dundunduuuun* If only I had a bigger window now. XD

I'm totally ADDICTED to this right now. While I’ve only listened to “Stay the Ride Alive” only like.. three times. :P

I’ll try to elaborate, but it's mostly feeling.

Forgive me my lack of knowledge of musical terms because I'm completely in the dark when it comes to that.

I like epic music. To me, good music needs as many ingredients as possible. Plus lots of shifting between "loud" and "quiet".

And, I like rhythm. As a kid, I once nearly started a drumming course next to violin.

Kenji Kawai's compositions for Ghost in the Shell and others hit all my weak points HARD; the drums, the strings, the synths, the vocals.

Gackt is the only vocalist whose vocals I FULLY enjoy. The rest of my preferences is almost completely instrumental (besides Michael Jackson and very select few other male artists like Sting and Billy Joel). This is where people like Vanessa-Mae come in. Her mixing of classical music with modern influences such as electronica is perfect. I like electronica, a lot. It can be just as complex as an orchestra, I like the three-dimensionality of it. Plus.. bass bass bass. Heh. :P

Now back on the topic of "Stay the Ride Alive". If it's supposed to be epic or tearjerking; it fails at that. It's just not enough. The orchestral sound reminds me of a Within Temptation song, but without underlying rhythmics I can grasp onto. It's lacking somehow, and it doesn't grasp me, even Gackt's vocals can't do anything about that. If Gackt had written this, it would've been the first time I'd call a Gackt piece mediocre and dissapointing. I'm not saying it ís mediocre, it's an ok song, but for Gackt it would be. At least that's what I feel.

After having said all the above, it makes sense that within Gackt's wide range of music, I have preferences like any other healthy person. I'm glad to inform you that I do. :P
But I don't have to go into deep explanation about that, I think.. it's pretty obvious if you read the above. XD

Can you believe I'm actually sad that R&R is over now? I must be about the only one. ~~Even though it should be over because R&R III would be overkill~~ The new Japanese concept thingy is another dream come true and it sounds totally spiffy and all (for some reason I'm still filled with relief when I remind myself Gackt didn't return to Moon for now).. I can't let it go. It's always been so special to me. It's a link back to ~~Stella~~ my favorite era of ~~the old Gackt~~ "Younger Gackt" and the fact that it's continued so well is so endearing.

Then again it's only logic. History and sciencefiction are my favorite genres and I'll prefer them over vampires anytime.

No matter how I look at it, vampires are sort of.. lame. :P

My mother just called that they tried to deliver a package this morning. *dokidoki*
But tomorrow no one will be at home between 11:00 and 13:00 either, so I'll have to pick it up at the post office on Saturday. I really hope the jsk looks good on me.. and that it won't choke me to death.

I've been quite conscious about what I eat since I had to check out my own weight when weighing the cats a week or 2 ago. When I came back from Japan in June it was 62 kg, and now it's 68/69. At the end of summer break it was 66/67 again, but I figured I could go back to 62 pretty quickly once I had a normal life again. Turns out that I GAINED instead of lost, and now I'm at a point where I can't permit myself to get any heavier. I'll officially be overweight then.

Thing is; I have no clue about where it's coming from. I eat fruit and/or vegetables every day and I'll have to stuff myself to sickness in order to get to 2000 daily calories. I've always been strict in saving the snacks for weekends, this has been a rule in our house for as long as I can remember. Ok, I admit that I was a bit too easy on fastfood when I just started school again, but that's changing now.

It's mainly my health I'm concerned about, not my looks, besides being able to fit in my clothes. I'm used to size 38 and still most of the Dutch female population needs size 38. It sells out the quickest so I know. :P

I can just hear the Silvana-voice in my head going: "It's about excersize, dear!" and I KNOW she's right.
I have to do something..

Do you think society puts too much pressure on people to be in relationships and/or have children? Do you think this ostracizes people who would be perfectly content to remain single and/or child-free? Is this pressure worse around the holidays?

Yes. I'm even starting to feel this pressure from my parents, because they have proven to be simply incapable of believing me when I tell them over and over again that I have no wish for children, and getting settled with a man doesn't appear on my priority list. Hell, it's not even on the "things I want to do sometime" list.

I'm sure they'll be dissapointed in some way if I don't marry some guy with a wellpaid job and settle down in this town to have 3 kids just like them. If I were to tell them men don't interest me in this area, they wouldn't understand. My brothers have also said things that hurt me without even knowing it.

Couples with kids receive child support money from the government. Seriously, put an end to that. It's théir choice, so théy should bear the financial consequences. Sure, the government wants new recruits the keep the economy rolling, but if people want kids, they'll get them because they like kids, not because they want extra money.

€484; 31 m², ground floor, own kitchen, own bathroom. Female, Dutch housemates. :D

It's in Heugem, a part of Maastricht close to the hospital. That's quite a change from my hotspot in the city centre, but it's good for my wallet because I go shopping way too much now that I live there.

I'll be contacted again mid January to sign the contract and receive the keys. My current room is up on Kamernet, I'm sure someone will show up soon to take over.

I've visited the studio today to check it out, and it's so spacy compared to what I have now. I'm looking forward to having a proper place of my own which can fit the tv that's currently still gathering dust in my bedroom at home. And a large table at which I can sit with my laptop ánd do homework.

It's going to be cosy, I think I'm going to get one of those bed/couch combithings. And I want lots of people to visit me and stay over because now I wíll have the space. XD

Tomorrow I'm skipping class to apply the finish touch to that book. A complete pdf has to be sent out this week and I got a last bunch of wishes and letters from the secretary and my mother still had to type hers as well sghfassuajhasj. At least it'll pay me about €100. I can use that..

I live with my mom (Karin) and dad (Hans), probably will continue to do so as long as I need their support. My mother is an almost fulltime doctor assistant, my dad is a fulltime crane machinist.

All of my grandparents are still alive, but I don't have a particular strong bond with them..
And like many people have observed, the same could be said for my bond (or lack thereof) with my parents. There's no hate or bad things going on, but it's different from what I see in other families. They're pretty much only interested in my results at school, which is why the periods where I didn't go to school (previous 2 years) have been hell on me because I felt like a criminal in my own house.
